San Diego Theater Reviews.com reviews the San Diego’s Got Talent Show!

Western Health Home Care loves partnering with the San Diego Parks and Recreation Department’s Senior Services Center because they embrace the senior community and provide so many wonderful events for them to be a part of. As mentioned in our last blog, WHHC was a sponsor of the 38th Annual San Diego’s Got Talent Show. Check out this review from SDTheaterReviews.com. San Diego’s Got Talent!

Western Health was one of the proud sponsors of the 38th Annual Senior Talent Show: San Diego’s Got Talent on Thursday, March 14th! The variety of talent that afternoon was amazing. We were entertained by singing soloists and duos, dance groups, comedy acts and much more! Tickets were only $3 if you pre-purchased them and only $5 at the door.

The Department of Senior Citizen Services is a wonderful group of people and volunteers. They are the back bone behind so many wonderful events throughout the year, such as The Senior Dances (which are held twice per month), The Annual Craft Show…they even organize trips to Julian and Las Vegas!

Successful Aging Expo

Western Health had a wonderful time participating in this year’s Successful Aging Expo located at the beautiful Town and Country Resort and Convention Center and sponsored by the Union Tribune! We had so much fun meeting hundreds of San Diegans and educating them about Home Health and Home Care and the services Western Health can provide!

Our good friends at the San Diego Senior Olympic Games also participated in this two-day event! We are so proud to announce that we are once again sponsors of this wonderful organization for the 2013 and 2014 San Diego Games!! We are also excited to announce that San Diego has been chosen this year as the location for the entire California senior Olympic Games! More information on this to come….

We also made some new friends! We had the pleasure of having Town and Country Resort and Convention Center as our booth neighbor! Lisa Gossmann, Catering Sales Manager, was so much fun getting to know! She knows all the ins and outs of the resort and convention center and is just a great resource if you are looking to plan an event at the Town and Country. Spring (and Allergies) Is In the Air!

Spring is quickly approaching. For some, that might mean the sun is shining, birds are chirping, and beautiful new flowers are in bloom! For others, Spring might mean “allergy season”: sneezing, sniffling, coughing, and itchy, red eyes. Although San Diegans may fare better than those who live in other cities across the U.S. when it comes to dealing with seasonal (or year-round) allergies…it can still take a toll on a person nonetheless!

WebMD.com is a great “starting out” source for just about anything medical related online. Within just a few clicks, you can practically diagnose every-day medical related issues, and even find ways to treat them! For those that suffer from allergies, this website is a fabulous resource! There is an entire “Allergies Health Center” with multiple chapters to read up on such as: Allergy Facts, Types, Tests, Treatments, Managing and Resources. Whether you are are someone who has just recently developed allergies or are a “seasoned” seasonal allergy sufferer (excuse the blatant pun!), this website has tons of great info and is extremely easy to navigate!
